The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear arguments from the husband and four wives who star in the television show “Sister Wives,” letting stand a lower court ruling that kept polygamy a crime in Utah. The law needs to go, sooner rather than later. Until it is gone, people need to protect themselves, as ethical nonmonogamists should do anywhere.
Advocating for the right of consenting adults to share and enjoy love, sex, residence, and marriage without limits on the gender, number, or relation of participants. Full marriage equality is a basic human right.

Technicality Leaves Discriminatory Utah Law Intact For Now
Since the Browns of "Sister Wives" haven't yet been prosecuted under Utah's ridiculous law against polyfidelity (they fled to Nevada), the US Supreme Court isn't taking up their case. Here's the report from Nate Carlisle at sltrib.com...

Martin Luther King, Jr.
In the US, Monday is a holiday, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. He was a giant in the fight for civil rights.
Many decades after he was assassinated, the fight for civil rights continues.
History is on our side. All consenting adults will be free to exercise their rights to share love, sex, residence, and marriage.
Are like those who kept trying to keep some people second-class citizens, or are you like the people who marched with King?

FX Show Taboo Raises Issues of Consanguinamory
Genetic Sexual Attraction and consanguinamory need more visibility, including on television, but it would be nice to have it presented straightforward and not with cheating or some other complication along those lines. Here's a report from Kaitlin Thomas at tvguide.com on a new show on FX called Taboo...
If you watch, comment below to let us know what you think.
Situations involving GSA or consanguinamory are ripe for passion, conflict, and comedy. More people are interested than will admit. It would be awesome if someone would adapt Diane Rinella's novels involving consanguinamory. Her narrative is unflinching and uncompromised.
FX's new series Taboo (Tuesdays at 10/9c) follows James Keziah Delaney, a man who was presumed to be dead but returns home to London in 1814 to lay claim to his father's shipping empire.I don't know how long the character was away, but that set up makes it possible for this to involve Genetic Sexual Attraction.
The show is full of twists, but perhaps the biggest is that a major ongoing story arc involves an incestuous relationship between James and his married half-sister Zilpha, played by Oona Chaplin. And apparently we're supposed to root for it even knowing their blood relation. We don't endorse cheating on this blog. However, not all marriages are closed. If her marriage is open or if it ends, heck yes root for them.
"My objective is to get people that watch the show dying for us to get into bed," Chaplin told TVGuide.com with mostly a straight face. "That's my objective. And I think that was a common objective of the team, so if people want a brother and a sister to get it on like there's no tomorrow, then we won."Then have her marriage end or make sure it is established to be open. We appreciate the objective of giving people a look into consanguinamorous attractions.
Taboo airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on FX.

We Get Hate Mail
It's great when people leave comments and contact us in other ways to thank us for letting them know they aren't alone, or for answering their questions, or opening their minds, and other positive results. It's great to get those appreciative and supportive comments. [Edit: Supportive comments have been left on this entry, but I try to avoid publishing what is generally considered profanity. So I'll need to edit them and feature them in another entry.]
We also get comments that are, shall we say, less than supportive. More often than not, they're little more than one of the Discredited Arguments, usually 1, 4, or 7, especially 1. It just goes to show you there's no good reason to deny people their fundamental rights.
Here are a couple of recent comments submitted anonymously that were NOT published, because they didn't meet basic standards.
If you don't want to read what the haters have to say, don't continue.

Cristina's Open Letter to Daniel Mexican and Santana Mexican
Passing this along from our good friend Cristina at www.lilysgardener.com
Open Letter to Daniel Mexican and Santana Mexican
Wed, 11th January, 2017
Dear Daniel and Santana,
I am a Legal Secretary and advocate for the rights of consenting adults to share love, sex, residence and marriage with any and all consenting adults.
I have been following your story on the internet closely and I think it is absolutely awful that the Federal government is prosecuting you both. You are both consenting adults and the government has absolutely no business in your bedroom.
Due to the oppressive laws that you both are forced to live and love under, I feel deeply for you and your situation.
If you are reading this, please know that you have a friend, ally, and advocate in me. I want to help you in any way I can. I would welcome contact and would do whatever I could to help you.
Please check out my website www.lilysgardener.com
If you want to contact me completely confidentially, please email me at lilysgardener@protonmail.com
Kind Regards to you both, Cristina Shy

Maybe Twitter Is Too Easy To Use
If you aren't doing so already, you really should follow or bookmark the Twitter account for this blog and the Full Marriage Equality Tumblr. Also, "friend" or at least follow my Facebook and join our Facebook group.
Over the last couple of days there have been some antiequality accounts embarrassing themselves by attacking me on Twitter. The more they tweet, the more they reveal they have no argument for denying consenting adults their rights.
It's almost like this:
Over the last couple of days there have been some antiequality accounts embarrassing themselves by attacking me on Twitter. The more they tweet, the more they reveal they have no argument for denying consenting adults their rights.
It's almost like this:
Me: "Consenting adults should be allowed their relationships."
Them: "Y U want 2 do toddlurs and gotes?"The sheer lack of basic reading comprehension is astounding, and it is very interesting how quickly they bring up goats and toddlers, almost like they are constantly thinking of doing something with them. Equal access and protection for all consenting human adults is a basic Constitutional principle here in the US. We simply need to remove laws still on the books in some places that are unconstitutional per many court precedents and still used to abuse power. It doesn't require a shift in general or broad legal principles, just simply applying our laws in ways that treat adults equally.

In-Laws Twice Over
Someone came to this blog today by searching for....
The answer, at least in most places, is YES. And not only is this possible, but it happens, and it always has, for many reasons, including, but not limited to...
can two siblings marry other two siblings? If I understand correctly, this is asking if, for example, John Brown marries Jane Smith, if John's sister Mary Brown can marry Jane's brother Tom Smith.
The answer, at least in most places, is YES. And not only is this possible, but it happens, and it always has, for many reasons, including, but not limited to...

Consenting Adults Still Being Prosecuted in South Dakota
Yet again, we see the very real harm caused by unconstitutional laws that still criminalize sex between consenting adults. As we have seen before, there is a federal case being made because some adults have loved each other. Jane rightly exposes the absurdity of prosecuting this case.
United States Attorney Randolph J. Seiler announced that an Eagle Butte, South Dakota, man and woman have been indicted by a federal grand jury for Incest.Counselor Seiler, I'm sure you are a valuable asset to our federal government. Why are you prosecuting consenting adults for having sex in private?
Daniel Mexican, age 43, and Santana Mexican, age 25, were indicted on December 14, 2016. They appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on December 16, 2016, and pled not guilty to the Indictment. There is no victim! Honorable Judge Moreno, please dismiss this!!!

A Close Cousin Observes Consanguinamory
This blog has featured scores of exclusive interviews with lovers are denied the freedom to be open about their love
and are, by law, denied the freedom to marry and have that marriage
treated
equally under the law.
From time to time, we get friends or family of people in consanguinamorous relationships to share their perspective from outside of that relationship. Their perspectives can be very informative, and we are happy to bring you another one of those.
The individuals described as a couple below are clearly able to consent to their relationship. They should be free to decide whether or not to legally marry, yet they could be harassed and persecuted if they were open about their love. They are consenting adults who aren't hurting anyone; why should they be denied their rights? In much of the world, including all but a couple of US states, they could be criminally prosecuted for their love.
Read the interview below and see for yourself what this observer has to say about this forbidden relationship. You may think the relationship is shocking, interesting, sweet, or you might find it incredibly sexy, but whatever your reaction, should these lovers be denied equal access to marriage or any other rights?
*****
FULL MARRIAGE EQUALITY: Your adult cousin and her father are in a romantic/sexual relationship?
Ashley: I think my cousin and her father have been together for seven years now. They are very much in love with each other. I can feel the love between them by just watching how they interact with one another.
