The Other Shoe Drops in Indiana, Shedding More Light

The other day, we noted and commented on an arrest in Indiana. Here's word of a second arrest in the same case, and more information about the case, from Liz Shepherd at the same news website.
A second individual was charged with incest after admitting to having sexual intercourse multiple times with a male relative.
Charges have officially been filed against William Glenn Davis, 54, 23095 Tyler Road, Lakeville; and Samantha Lyn Davis, 21,1903 West Point Drive, Warsaw. Each have been charged with incest, a level 5 felony.
They are consenting adults. This shouldn't be a law enforcement matter in the first place.

On Jan. 17, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance at a Warsaw residence. The officer arrived and spoke with Samantha Davis and her ex-boyfriend. Both subjects were accusing the other of domestic violence.
So this was NOT about domestic violence between the defendants.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer spoke with the ex-boyfriend, who advised that he and Samantha Davis were arguing because she was having sexual relations with William Davis. Samantha Davis admitted in July 2018, she started having sexual intercourse with William Davis at her residence. She had sexual intercourse and sexual conduct with him multiple times during 2018. The relationship between Samantha Davis and William Davis was removed from court documents.
Based on the laws and their ages, she's either his daughter or his niece; there's a slight chance she's his granddaughter or half-sister. Those are the possibilities.

So they were ratted out by her ex-boyfriend, who may or may not have gotten into a domestic violence situation with her. Too bad he wasn't an ally.

The officer spoke with William Davis, who admitted he had sexual intercourse and engaged in sexual conduct multiple times with Samantha Davis.
Again, there is no legal or ethical obligation to admit to local police that you've had sex with a close relative. None. If they have it on video, you still shouldn't admit it. Say nothing other than asking for your lawyer (if you're being detained or arrested). In the US, we have the "right to remain silent" and we should use it. Also, unless you invite them in, police need a warrant to enter your home or some probably cause (like it being apparent an assault is about to take place). Unfortunately, if you're cheating or have a jealous (ex) lover, they can use these outrageous laws against consensual (to be redundant) sex against you.
William Davis was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Jan. 18. Samantha Davis was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Jan. 17. Both of their bonds were set at $10,250 surety and cash.
Outrageous. They aren't a threat to anyone.

If she assaulted her ex-boyfriend, she should be charged with assault. If her ex-boyfriend assaulted her, he should be charged with assault, and she shouldn't have had to worry about calling police if she was assaulted. If she was assaulted, and now she's being charged with a crime for consensual affection, this is a prime example of why unconstitutional laws criminalizing consanquinamory are harmful!!!

Indiana, like most other states, need to stop arresting and prosecuting adults for having sex with each other. There is no good reason to deny relationship rights for all, including and full marriage equality.

There are some comments after the article. I'd quote them, but Belvia Sue Warrix-Winchester Hall, Drew G. Hookway, and Amber Titus provided nothing of substance.

Thankfully, even though people are enjoying consanguinamory close to you wherever you are reading this, the overwhelming majority of them will never be treated this way in media, nor will they be arrested. Nobody should be persecuted nor prosecuted for sharing affection with another consenting adult.

  1. There is nothing wrong with a father & daughter loving each other or helping each other out. Same goes for mother & son.
