Zero Discrimination Day - March 1

Celebrated by UNAIDS, Zero Discrimination Day is observed to to stand against discrimination and inequality in health care, including fighting stigma regarding HIV/AIDS.

When people seek health care, they shouldn't be discriminated against because of any disease they have, or for being LGBTQ+, nonmonogamous, consanguinamorous, kinky, or anything else about their gender, sexuality, or relationships.

Reject prejudice, stigma, and unjust discrimination.

Serve those who need care.

Podcast Examines Consanguinamory

A couple of episodes of a podcast have dropped very recently that examine consanguinamory, especially between mother and son, after the host of the podcast was contacted by someone who wants his mother. The podcast is named "Slutcast," is about "advocating for distigmatization of sex industry," and according to the statement accompanying the listing...

Slutcast is presented by Zoe Starr, an independent escort working in the Central West of NSW. Slutcast is unsponsored at present but Zoe welcomes any offers to be made via DM on twitter @athleticmilf1. slut is a derogatory term for a female sex worker. the use of "slut" is an attempt at irony- because my podcast is all about trying to break the stigma that society places on the sex industry and my aim is to pay homage to all those amazingly intelligent and savvy escorts and sex workers and to try to shed a light on their amazingness in an attempt to start to change society's very negative and judgemental attitude towards what is a very important job. This topic turned out to be a bigger topic than expected.

In this episode I present certain anecdotal examples describing mother and son sexual unions. I then look for evidence that these relationships are not harmful or harmful from physical and emotional perspective.

Final episode- There is a consanguinamory online community advocating for individuals who are engaging in consensual sexual relationships with family members. But is this movement morally right? is this safe or harmful?

Overall, it is good that she was willing to take on this topic and talk about it. Hopefully, more people will get a better understanding by listening and following the links she provides.

Monday, February 28, is Metamour Day.

It’s a day to celebrate the relationships people have with their metamours. Metamours are a partner’s other partners, or other significant others (OSOs). “Metamour” is a commonly used term in polyamory and sometimes in the wider ethical/consensual/disclosed nonmonogamy community.

FULL MARRIAGE EQUALITY: Describe yourselves.

Derek: We currently reside in the southern USA. I was born and grew up in a rural area. A hard work ethic was instilled in me early in life doing family farming and gardening. I joined the Army after graduation from high school and served eight years six months and one day. I attended college and worked successfully as a healthcare executive many years.

I was the youngest child; my two siblings are older than me by eight and ten years. 

My ex-wife left when my daughter was four, and we never heard from her again. I was an only parent. I raised my daughter alone with no help.

Today, I am a disabled veteran and only work as a domestic engineer. I enjoy gardening, spending time with my dogs, chickens, ducks, and my daughter-wife and son-grandson; we live together.

We are both above-average looking, non-smokers, watch our diets, exercise as often as we can, and are extremely hygiene-oriented. I am American Indian and she is mostly Caucasian. 

We are both highly educated, and she is a medical practitioner. We are in the top twenty-five percent economically of people in our geographical area. 

Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day is almost here again. Many people will be getting married. Married people will be celebrating their anniversaries, or simply having a night out or a special night in, as will other people hoping to get married someday, or maybe just enjoying being together in public.

If you are in such a situation, good for you and enjoy it.

Whether you are or not, take a moment to think about all of the people who can’t marry the person or person(s) they love, or can’t so much as hold hands in public without being accosted. Think about the people, consenting adults, who have to completely hide their relationships because they could be sent to prison for simply having sex in private. Think about the people who have to hide who they are because, where they live, they could be killed for being who they are. Think about the people who can’t accept gifts from their their lover(s) at work, or even a loving comment in social media, because it would out them and get them fired.

This is what goes on because some people are being denied their rights to share sex, love, residence, and marriage. The US has had the limited monogamous same-gender freedom to marry nationwide, which was a great step forward, for years now, and it hasn't hurt anything. Other victories for that freedom to marry since February 14, 2021 have included...

In most of the world, a man can’t marry both of the women he loves, despite both women being in favor of such a marriage.

The people in most of these interviews can't have legally recognized marriages anywhere in the world, with perhaps one or two exceptions, and we need full marriage equality before people like Linda, Melissa, and Matthew can tie the knot.

So enjoy Valentine's Day if you are able, but think for a moment about the people who will only be able to fully enjoy theirs when we have full marriage equality so that an adult, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, or religion, is free to share love, sex, residence, and marriage with any and all consenting adults without prosecution, persecution, or discrimination. Help make it happen sooner rather than later.

Malory: My name is Malory and I am 27, my brother Jimmy is 26. We live in New Jersey, which, for the moment, has no laws prohibiting consensual incest. I am a educator and he is a construction worker. 

FME: Are you married or have you ever been legally and/or ceremonially married?

We are not legally married but there was a ceremony. Our parents and brother were there and our sister in spirit. Also there were two friends I had growing up that knew of our relationship. They attended but didn’t bring anyone. Our brother was the best man. One friend officiated and the other was my matron of honor. It was beautiful and took place in our favorite spot at the beach.

Here's how I answered.

Corny gave a great answer.

The vague and potentially confusing part here is that you are certain she doesn’t like you romantically but you two have “done stuff.” If that stuff is sexual, then… if she’s willing to get sexual with you but doesn’t want a romantic relationship with you, like go on dates, then you can either continue to do sexual things together and NOT be a romantic pair…or not. Being a romantic pair isn’t something she wants (with you, right now). Take it or leave it. This is an important lesson to learn for relationships in general.

If you’re sharing affection, you’re enjoying a lot more than many others, who don’t even get to share that.

Romantic feelings for someone who can consent to date you are not inherently bad or gross. If it’s what you want, you shouldn’t allow the “yucks” of others to take away your “yum” by internalizing their prejudices.

If you have had similar feelings for people who aren’t relatives, then the good news for you is that you have many options. If you’ve only had these feelings for close relatives, that makes life a little more difficult, but you’re not alone. There are literally millions of people who are like that.

If you hadn't been having sex sometimes with your bestie, the "man you love" might have been able to accept him. The answer to your question is yes, you will have to make a choice. Now, the question I have for you is, which man do you think is the keeper?

Sigh. 

Abby is aware of polyamory, open relationships, and other forms of ethical (or disclosed or consensual) nonmonogamy. There are men for whom the fact that Bestie exists would be something that that makes this letter writer more desirable, and other men who would accept her relationship with Bestie. And yes, there are men who won't want to be with her, but those aren't the only men out there.

It's something that has to be worked out with any person she is with. Aside from the sex, some people want their partner to be their best friend, and don't want to be in a relationship in which their partner's best friend is another person (sometimes, depending on gender).

Monogamy shouldn't be considered the default. Nobody should assume monogamy when dating someone. People need to actually talk about and negotiate the rules of their relationship. If they want or need monogamy, they need to be clear about that and define what monogamy means. For some, it means the partners will not touch (literally!) another adult. For others, monogamy means that they will be spouses and nobody else will have the status of a spouse, but things like casual sex with others is fine.

Brazil Should Move Forward, Not Regress

Hey I recently found out that there is a new law to be voted to criminalize incest in Brazil.

I don’t think it will pass. I believe incest is more common than people think in Brazil.

“Congressman Sanderson's Bill 603/21 (PSL-RS) criminalizes the practice of incest in Brazil. The text provides for imprisonment of one to five years for those who have sexual intercourse with father or mother, son or daughter, brother or sister and grandfather or grandmother, whether consanguineous relative or affinity.

"The proposal adds an article to the Criminal Code. In Brazil, incest is not a crime, unless it involves children and adolescents. If, on the contrary, those involved are adults and do not act under threat or violence, there is no prohibition for the practice.”

When it comes to certain relationships, Brazil has been closer to equality than most most of the world. Brazil should continue to move forward, not go away from equality.

Consenting adults in Brazil should be free to share love, sex, kink, residence, and marriage, or any of those without the others, without persecution, bullying, criminalization, or any other discrimination. There are people in consanguinamorous relationships all over the country. They aren't hurting anyone. Calling them criminals would be such a terrible injustice.
