Some Sibling Couples Noted by Wikipedia

I don't think I'd seen this page on Wikipedia. "List of Coupled Siblings," until someone at the Kindred Spirits Forum called attention to it.

As of July 28, 2022, here are the listed contents of the page...

Sibling lovers, including couples, triads, and more, are everywhere, and always have been, regardless of class or other demographic designation. You certainly know some, even if you're not aware who they area.

If you're someone who has shared sexual affection or romance with one or more sibling, you're not alone.

If you want to share those things with a sibling, you're not alone.

If you have family or friends who are such siblings, please know they're not alone and neither are you. Don't try to shame them or stop them. They should be supported.

There's nothing wrong with siblings mutually agreeing to share more affection, or even their entire life together. There's no good reason to deny sibling lovers their rights.

As always, you are welcome to comment below and to contact Keith.

Lies and Damned Lies About Polygamy

[Note: I am bumping up this previous entry because it is as relevant as ever. Polygamy is not something to escape from, fear, or prosecute. Abusive people are. Polygamy doesn't harm women, children, or teen boys, abusers do. The same goes for monogamy.]

Good ol’ tool of anti-equality forces, Professor Joe Henrich of the University of B.C., is back in the news. This article comes with a picture of Bountiful, B.C. (which is NOT the picture shown here) along with this text…

New research says that polygamy, which is practiced in Bountiful, B.C., leads to increased crime.

Right. Everyone avoids driving near Bountiful because of the high crime rate.

Prof. Joe Henrich found that when rich men take more than one wife, it leaves a deficit of women leading to increased fighting and competition for the remaining women.

Got that? You non-wealthy or unmarried guys are just a bunch of criminals.

Henrich is taking about women as though they have no minds of their own and are nothing but property, akin to cars.

Rich men can “take” more than one woman, marriage or not. Shall we ban all nonmonogamy? Or, since it might lower the crime rate according to this line of thinking, shall we require a woman to find an unmarried man and keep him busy so he won’t go around being a violent criminal?

"You have low-status men who are desperate for resources," said Henrich, a professor in the departments of psychology and economics. "More polygamy leads to a greater proportion of unmarried men, which leads to increased crime."

How does Henrich explain “low status” men who marry a woman and support her decision to not earn income as she tends to the children or earn less income than she and their children will spend? Wouldn’t it make sense, in Henrich’s view, for such men to never marry and have children, so as to be less “desperate for resources?”

Henrich and his co-authors studied societies where polygamy is prevalent, trying to discover the consequences.

Did they also conclude that polygamy causes high amounts of melanin?
"The scarcity of marriageable women in polygamous cultures increases competition among men for the remaining unmarried women," said Henrich. "The greater competition increases the likelihood men in polygamous communities will resort to criminal behaviour to gain resources and women."

I wonder why the article doesn’t cite examples?

I also wonder how much funding for this, or how much of Henrich’s pay, comes from the very government that has banned the polygamous freedom to marry and is actively attacking polygynous families?

We’ve already debunked all of this here, here, here, here, here, and here. We will need many more dung beetles to clear this pile up.

An adult should be free to share love, sex, residence, and marriage with any and all consenting adults. These excuses to deny full marriage equality are flimsy masks that fail to hide festering bigotry.

Frequently Asked Question: Can Siblings Marry?

The following is based on my understanding. I’m not at attorney and this should not be considered legal advice.

Can siblings marry?

I’m not aware of any government that will currently and knowingly marry full-blood siblings or recognize a marriage of full-blood siblings; rather, if it was discovered by the authorities after an official marriage was formed that the spouses were, in fact, siblings, the marriage would be dissolved and considered invalid. If the spouses knew they were siblings when they married, they would be subject to prosecution. If they discovered the genetic relationship after getting married, they would have to file for an annulment or dissolution or risk prosecution.

Where sibling consanguinamory isn’t still banned by law, siblings can have a wedding ceremony and live the married life, although under discrimination, as their government will not recognize their marriage and they will not get treated equally. Consulting a family law or estate attorney might be worth it for siblings who want some of the legal aspects of marriage. DO explain to the attorney of you genetic/legal relation as siblings. DO NOT tell the attorney you are lovers. Explain you would prefer each other to essentially be next of kin and reciprocal beneficiaries over and above anyone else (like your parents or another sibling); you want as much of a personal-social partnership as the law allows.

A Chance to Speak Up Anonymously

UPDATE: I'm calling attention to this again and adding some clarification from the person who contacted me offering this opportunity.

She says if you contact her, she would conduct an anonymoys, off-the-record chat to learn about your situation.

You are welcome to contact her directly and remain anonymous.

*****
Here's another possible opportunity to raise awareness of consanguinamory.

Currently being developed is a series of short films for online broadcast. The series will feature interviews with contributors who, wearing various masks to conceal their faces (and voice changes where needed), discuss a range of topics or provide confessions which they would otherwise feel unable to reveal or discuss.

The intention of the series is to enable people to talk openly about real issues and events which otherwise go undiscussed or buried.

I was contacted specifically about finding people willing to talk anonymously about their experiences with consanguinamory.

Whether your situation is/was a reunion GSA relationship or you were raised together or by one another, they'd be interested in hearing from you.

I understand about the need for caution and being nervous, but I also know that raising awareness of consanguinamory is very important. If you have any interest, reach out to this person (below) and check it out. You can always decline to record with them.

Feel free to reach out to me about this or contact:

Non-Binary People’s Day

We recognize, affirm, and stand with our family, friends, and neighbors who are non-binary.

Each individual must be free to be themselves, including to have the relationships to which they mutually agree, if they want a relationship.

Discrimination and prejudice against non-binary people must stop.

A Mother and Sister Who is an Ally

Every once in a while, we are able to interview a family member or friend who is an ally to consanguineous lovers. We are always eager to do so. In this case, we previously interviewed a niece and uncle about their love. Below is an interview with the niece's mother, who is the uncle's sister.

Consider what she says, and what they said, and, that there is no good reason to deny these lovers their rights. There is no good reason to discriminate against them. There is no good reason to criminalize their love.

The Rolling Wheels of Deep and Passionate Love

We have another exclusive interview to bring you, and this one is extensive.

People in consanguinamorous relationships are everywhere, though consanguinamorists tend to be closeted. Fortunately, some are willing to be interviewed for this blog. As a result, Full Marriage Equality has featured scores of exclusive interviews with lovers denied the freedom to marry and have that marriage treated equally under the law. Most can’t even be out of the closet or they’ll face prosecution under absurd incest laws, which, instead of focusing on abuse, also target consensual relationships.

The woman and man interviewed below should be free
to legallmarry each other, or simply to be together as a couple without having to hide, yet they can’t. Prejudice can be deadly. They are consenting adults who aren’t hurting anyone; why should they be denied their rights? In much of the world, including where they live, they could be criminally prosecuted for their love, and might be persecuted severely in addition.

Read the interview below and see for yourself what they have to say about the love they share with each other. You may think this relationship is interesting, or it might make you uncomfortable, or you might find it ideal, even highly erotic and romantic, but whatever your reaction, should lovers like these be denied equal access to marriage or any other rights simply because they love each other this way?

Also please note that someone you love, respect, and admire could be in a similar relationship right now. Should they be attacked and denied rights because of the "incest" label?

***Please be aware there are mild descriptions of sex and sexuality.***.

Clearing Up Consanguinity

Many people get confused about terms like "second cousins" and "once removed" when referring to close but not-so-close relations. Your parent's sibling's child is your first cousin. That person's child would be your first cousin, once removed. That person's child and your child would be second cousins.

Here's a helpful chart that can help explain it.

Source: http://www.sanantonio.gov/atty/ethics/ConsanguinityChart.htm

Remember, there's nothing wrong with experimenting with, dating, or even marrying a cousin. Consanguineous relationships and marriages are nothing new. There are some countries and a little over half of US states where the bigotry against marriage equality extends to preventing first cousins from marrying, but there are many places where marrying a first cousin is legal and common. I'm only aware of a few US states where sex between first cousins is technically illegal, so check the laws of your state if you are concerned. It should be searchable on your official state website.

Equality, Life, Liberty, and Happiness

July 4 is Independence Day in the US, considered by many our country's birthday. That means Monday is a widely observed and celebrated national holiday.

Connected to the day is the Declaration of Independence, which touts equality and notes that we have the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

When the Declaration of Independence was written, equality was reserved for white, landowning, heterosexual, Christian males. Great strides have been made to extend equality to everyone else. As we know, equality just for some is not equality. In recent times, even if not everything has gone our way, we have seen many pro-equality court rulings and laws, including the Supreme Court ruling for the nationwide limited monogamous same-gender freedom to marry.

More people are coming out of the closet, and more allies are coming out in support of equality. More people are free to marry, and now we have more polyamorous and polygamous people speaking up for their rights.

But we’re still on our journey. Equality, liberty, and the right to pursue happiness are, in many places in the US, and at the national government level, still denied to LGBTQ+ people in some ways. Even more so, these rights are denied to the polyamorous and the consanguinamorous. The US still struggles with racism.

Let’s keep moving forward so that an adult, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender, is free to pursue love, sex, kink, residence and marriage with any and all consenting adults, and not be denied liberty, employment, housing, or anything else.

This isn't just a philosophical thing or a principle. There are people, good people, who are hurt by ongoing discrimination, prejudice, and ignorance. There are people just being themselves, hurting nobody, and people who are in loving, healthy relationships who are being denied their rights, who have to hide who they are or their love for each other, who constantly endure people proclaiming that the love they share is sick or disgusting or makes them worthy of being subjected to abuse or death. There are teenagers who have simply behaved as normal teenagers with each other and haven't hurt anybody (including each other or themselves) who are being lied to and told that nobody else is like them and they are depraved. That's no way to have to live, it certainly isn't liberty, and it squashes the pursuit of happiness.

They need to know they are not alone, and there's nothing wrong with them.

We need independence from hate and ignorance. So let's keep evolving America, and encourage other countries to do the same.

We Are Here For Love, Not Hate

I hope my fellow Americans are enjoying their holiday weekend.

I just wanted to post a reminder, for reasons, that this blog is here to spread love, affirmation, understanding, and support.

Hate, prejudice, and bigotry have no place here.

Everyone is welcome to leave comments on the posts and pages of this blog, but hateful comments are likely to go unpublished. They might get used as fodder in a new entry on the blog, where they will get analyzed and exposed for the bigotry they are.

We support the rights of all to share love, sex, kink, residence, partnerships & marriage.

Thank you!
