I didn’t know there was a national Daughters Day until my daughter texted me. She was going through a divorce a tuff times for her. I came up with an idea of why not the two of us have a picnic together.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t really know what to bring on this picnic. So I brought a bottle of white sweet wine, a loaf of thin long bread, hard cheese and a blanket. To my pleasant surprise my daughter wore a short summer dress I was expecting shorts. I wanted to dress up for you dad. Dress up right with all her make up and perfume I realized this was a date. We hiked a bit into a forest to a green valley that over looked a distance lake.
We took to this blanket and I opened and pored us the two plastic wine glasses. Cheers to you honey as we both downed our drinks. With out hesitation my daughter lite up a joint. Not to reject her offering I participating in getting high. My daughter thanked me for my support in her divorce and this beautiful picnic for her… we kissed but not as a father and a daughter.
There was a reason why my daughter wore a dress…I was a willing father and a man that full filled my daughters needs that day with no regrets nor guilt. So in short I look forward to each year’s celebrating daughters day.
