Marriage Equality: "Ewww!" Is No Reason to Deny It
This blog exists to promote full marriage equality, the right to marry for all. This means every adult should have the freedom to marry the person or persons he or she loves, and not to face criminal charges, denial of housing or employment, denial of protection from bullying, denial of child custody, or any other form of discrimination based on prejudice against the relationship.
Consenting adults should be able to enter into the marriages of their choosing, or, if they don't want to marry, they should still be able to have the relationships of their choosing without marriage.
The right to marry or to personal consortium should not be abridged or denied in on account of...
...sex, gender, sexual orientation,
(gay marriage, same-sex marriage)
...ancestry,
(interracial marriage, exogamous marriage)
...consanguinity,
(incestuous marriage, consanguineous marriage, consanguinamorous marriage, hyperendogamous marriage)
...or number of participants.
(polygamous marriage, plural marriage, polygynous marriage, polyandrous marriage, group marriage, triad marriage, dyadic network marriage, polyamorous marriage, open marriage)
One of the most widely used "arguments" against a freedom to marry, or full marriage equality, is this...
“It is disgusting.”
“Ick”
“Eww!”
“Gross!”
This explains why the person using the argument would not want to enter into the type marriage or have the kind of sex they want banned, but their own personal disgust is not a justification for preventing other people from doing something those other people want to do. Don’t want to have a same-sex marriage? Don’t have one. Some people are disgusted by the idea of heterosexual sex, or their parents having sex, but obviously this is not a justification to ban those things.
Some people find prejudice and bigotry, a lack of marriage equality, disgusting.
One person's disgust is no reason to deny other people their right to marry the person or persons they love. As we celebrate the birthday of the US, let us be true to the principles of liberty, freedom to pursue happiness, and equality.

To prevent spam, comments will have to be approved, so your comment may not appear for several hours. Feedback is welcome, including disagreement. I only delete/reject/mark as spam: spam, vulgar or hateful attacks, repeated spouting of bigotry from the same person that does not add to the discussion, and the like. I will not reject comments based on disagreement, but if you don't think consenting adults should be free to love each other, then I do not consent to have you repeatedly spout hate on my blog without adding anything to the discourse.
If you want to write to me privately, then either contact me on Facebook, email me at fullmarriageequality at protonmail dot com, or tell me in your comment that you do NOT want it published. Otherwise, anything you write here is fair game to be used in a subsequent entry. If you want to be anonymous, that is fine.
IT IS OK TO TALK ABOUT SEX IN YOUR COMMENTS, BUT PLEASE CHOOSE YOUR WORDS CAREFULLY AS I WANT THIS BLOG TO BE AS "SAFE FOR WORK" AS POSSIBLE. If your comment includes graphic descriptions of activity involving minors, it's not going to get published.
