The message is that ...You misinterpreted the data.

The message is that there are these things called ROH which are found in less than 20% of people, and a significant subset of that is consanuinity. Then a subset of that is full incest, but most of it is cousins.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3152584185487706890.post-61778777940666068062016-05-13T22:51:19.763-07:002016-05-13T22:51:19.763-07:00So in people with problems, the majority of proble...So in people with problems, the majority of problems were not caused by he parents being closely related.Full Marriage Equalityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03029782688617414753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3152584185487706890.post-25746678463269769962016-05-13T21:18:49.631-07:002016-05-13T21:18:49.631-07:00Oops! I am not a gene...Anon who posted the article here.

I am not a geneticist, nor a scientist, but a common problem is that while the sample size is large it could be biased in a particular way. One might imagine the sample includes a subset of the population who had their genes scanned because they had what was thought to be a genetic problem.

What this might be saying is that if you have a genetic issue there is a higher probability of it being caused by a recessive trait.

Another possibility is that recessive genes are far more common than thought. This could be true too, as that is a large sample size (intuitively).
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
